The inspiration for the program stems from a program called “Go GIRL GO!” through the Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) for which the founder and now Chief Academic Officer, Teresa Woods participated in with her daughter. This was important to Mrs. Woods because of the experiences and relationships her daughter was building, that has lasted her into adulthood. Mrs. Woods decided to take the concepts she learned from “Go Girl Go” and created a mentorship program that be a legacy for her daughter. This is a lifelong project that she wants to see impact little girls all around the metro Detroit area for generations to come.
